When a tree is cut down, the stump is left under the ground. Most modern trees are cut using an electrical saw just above the ground, so the stump of the tree, with all of its roots, is still in the ground. Removing the stump is quite a bit of a hassle because the roots tend to spread far and wide underneath the soil. It can cost thousands in repairs and uprooting is generally not a practical solution. Instead, most people simply prefer leaving the stump behind. The process is as follows:
- Identify a suitable point to cut the tree
- Use a saw to cut above the ground
- Remove the upper portion of the tree
If you recently had a tree removed from your property, the stump might be left behind. Thankfully, you can do several things with it.
Grind it Completely
If you don’t like the protrusion above the ground, you can simply grind it all the way down into the ground. All you need to do is call a local stump grinder in Clevedon to do the job. They use specialised tools to completely grind the stump so that it doesn’t show up at all.
Use it for Decorative Purposes
The stump could become an ideal seating space in your garden if you know how to integrate it properly into the surroundings. It’s a great way to make the place look cosier and more unique, adding a rustic appeal to the garden.
